Leading up to the British Academy Film Awards, the official BAFTA YouTube account has been recently updated with footage of Scarlett taking home the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her role in Lost in Translation. She was also nominated in the same category for her work in Girl with a Pearl Earring. I’ve added screen captures from her acceptance speech to the gallery.

INDIEWIRE – You want to make an anime superfan upset? Tell them the live-action remake stars Scarlett Johansson, is coming from Disney, and will be directed by Snow White And The Huntsman helmer Rupert Sanders. Now you can bug them for a couple more years about it.
The studio has slated the already semi-controversial Ghost in the Shell do-over for an April 14, 2017 release date. It parks the movie right between Pacific Rim 2 and Universal’s mystery monster movie project. Summer no longer stands alone as blockbuster season, in case you had any doubt.
Meanwhile, Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book has been pushed back six months, to April 15, 2016, where it’ll square off against Goosebumps and The Best Man Wedding. Taking its place this year is the true story story drama, “The Finest Hours,” with Casey Affleck and Chris Pine. Now arriving on October 9th, does Disney smell Oscar for this one?
Lastly, David Lowery’s Pete’s Dragon will breathe fire on August 12, 2016, where it will face stiff competition from raunchy comedy Bad Grandpa, raunchy animated movie Sausage Party, and Universal’s Spectral.
After much delay, I am glad to welcome you to Adoring Scarlett Johansson, a brand new resource for the beautiful, talented and lovely Scarlett Johansson. The site has been on my to-do-list since 2012, when I first got hold of the domain. Since then I have attempted several times to finally open my own fansite for Scarlett–at one stage I lost completely everything that I had saved over a four-month period; event photos, screen captures, magazine scans… you name it. I figured maybe it wasn’t meant to be. Then, early last year, I had a surge of inspiration to try once again. And although it has been a struggle to get here, balancing work life with online time, the site is finally open.
As you browse it now, the site is running at perhaps 60 or 70 percent of what I hope to achieve. There is still much for me to add, improve and build upon. You can already find over 35,000 images of Scarlett in our gallery–all untagged for your viewing pleasure. There is also information on the majority of Scarlett’s film roles in our filmography pages. Additionally, you can find out more about the leading lady herself in the information section (a detailed biography will be coming soon). My long term visions for the site include icon and video archives, and providing a resource with everything Scarlett-related that you could wish to find. In the more immediate future, I’ll be updating the gallery with event photos from 2013/2014 and screen captures from Captain America: Winter Soldier. Thanks for visiting!
The Under the Skin actress, who is one of the stars of W’s February 2015 issue, talks about her crush on Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing, the allure of David Bowie androgyny, and why WALL-E, of all movies, is the most touching love story.

Scarlett is once again featured in this year’s W Magazine’s Best Performances Issue, this time for her performance in Under The Skin. Head over to the gallery to check out the new photoshoot. Enjoy!
As a child actor, I had a hard time booking commercials. I was this small, blonde, enthusiastic kid, and then I’d open my mouth and people would hear my voice and say, ‘Do you have a cold?’ My voice was too deep. It confused people.

VARIETY – Following the success of Lucy, Scarlett Johansson looks ready to take on another action pic, this one coming from the world of Japanese anime.
Johansson is set to star in DreamWorks’ adaptation of the popular anime pic Ghost in the Shell. Deadline Hollywood had reported that the actress had the offer to star but at the time she was still undecided about taking the role. Sources now say she has agreed to star in the pic.
The story follows the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime.
Rupert Sanders is on board to direct. Avi Arad and Steven Paul are producing the film from a script by Bill Wheeler. Mark Sourian is exec producing.
Insiders also tell Variety that Paramount has the option to come on as co-producer and financier and that decision is expected in the coming weeks.
DreamWorks principal Steven Spielberg is a huge fan of the original and has long wanted to get this film off the ground. A commitment from a star like Johansson should help in getting the pic greenlit for production.
Besides Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lawrence, Johansson is becoming one of the few actresses in town with the clout to get a project greenlit on her name alone.
Lucy made $394 million worldwide and Johansson can be seen next in Avengers: Age of Ultron, bowing in May. Johansson has also done a nice job of balancing action-heavy tentpoles with serious dramas and comedies.
She received rave reviews for Spike Jonze’s Her and is a part of the ensemble of the Coen brothers’ next pic Hail, Caesar! She is repped by CAA and LBI Entertainment.
I have updated the gallery with Blu-ray quality screen captures of Lucy, including bonus features and a number of another additions including stills, posters and behind the scenes photos. For those of you that have seen the film, what did you think? For me, I loved Scarlett in this role. She carries the film superbly and given its success, surely it’s time she got her own Black Widow movie, right?
